Meet The Teachers

Ethan Wright

Mr. Wright is thrilled to teach music in the Mt. Blue Regional School District. He teaches High School Chorus, Band, and Piano, 7/8 Grade Band, and 6th Grade Chorus. Mr. Wright also directs the Mt. Blue Chamber Singers and Mt. Blue Voices at Mt. Blue High School. Mr. Wright received his Bachelors degree in Music Education from the University of Southern Maine and his Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from Lesley University. During his time at USM, Mr. Wright travelled and performed on two European tours as a member of the USM chamber singers. He was hired to teach instrumental and choral music at Buckfield Jr./Sr. High School where he taught for the first 13 years of his career. Mr. Wright was also the director of the Theatre Department at Buckfield Jr./Sr. High School as well as the founder and Artistic Director of the Nezinscot Valley Community Players which he started in 2010. In his spare time you can find Mr. Wright acting on stage. Some of his favorite roles include Seymour Krelborn (OHMPAA), Tony, West Side Story (USM Theater Department), J. Pierpoint Finch, How to Succeed in Business (OHMPAA) and Dickon, The Secret Garden (NVCP).

Brendan Hickey

Mr. Hickey is incredibly excited to be joining the Mount Blue Regional School District music program as the 7/8 grade chorus teacher at Mount Blue Middle School, 2-5 general music teacher at Academy Hill School, and 5th grade chorus teacher at Academy Hill School. Mr. Hickey also directs the Mt. Blue Jazz Band at Mt. Blue High School. Mr. Hickey grew up in the MBRSD music program from W. G. Mallett School to Mt. Blue High School, and feels very fortunate to be able to continue to be a part of the amazing music program, this time as a teacher. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA with a B.M. in Film Scoring, Musical Theatre Writing, and Conducting, Mr. Hickey spent two years working in the Newton Public School district in various elementary school positions. Mr. Hickey has also been the music director for the Sandy River Players Youth Musical Theatre Camp for the past five years, doing shows such as Spamalot! Jr, Mary Poppins Jr, Shrek Jr, The Little Mermaid Jr, and Matilda Jr.

Grace Libby

Ms. Libby couldn't be more excited to join Mt. Blue Regional School District's music program to teach K-5 general music at Cape Cod Hill School and Cascade Brook School, along with Grade 5 chorus at both schools. Ms. Libby grew up in the MBRSD music program, all the way from W.G. Mallett School to Mt. Blue High School. After moving to Boston to get her B.A in Theatre, and then spending a few additional years there directing musical productions at a K-5 after school program, she is so happy to be back in the district that raised her, teaching in the very classroom she learned in! Ms. Libby spends her summers directing Sandy River Players' Youth Musical Theatre camp, and has for the past 8 years. Shows she has directed include Shrek the Musical Jr, The Little Mermaid Jr, and Matilda the Musical Jr.
