Competencies acquired by the end of each semester. If you already can do these, then you should contact steider@msu.edu to arrange a brief oral interview to place you in the correct course.
By the end of the semester, students will be able to:
1. Function in the classroom
1.1. Understand and respond to simple, straightforward classroom commands/directions (open your book to page x, raise your hand, etc..)
1.2. Understand and ask simple, straightforward questions necessary for classroom success (What is the homework?, The test is tomorrow., etc..)
1.3. Understand and ask simple, straightforward questions necessary for communicative success (could you repeat that?, what does x mean? etc)
2. Engage in simple conversation on concrete, personal topics in present/general truth time frame (Live conversation either face-to-face or via live texting/social media)
2.1 Topic: Greetings
