Responsibilities of PLCSSSC

• The committee is responsible for ensuring that all teachers, therapists, and nurses within MSAD#49 meet the necessary certification requirements as set forth by the State of Maine.

• The committee will review all certification renewals and make recommendations to the State through the online Maine Educator Information System (MEIS).

• The committee will also support new teachers who must participate in the Teacher Action Plan (TAP) process by making sure they have a mentor and proper support throughout the process.

• The committee will meet regularly to review certification applications and ensure that all teachers within the district remain in compliance with state regulations.
