Identification and Services

Screening will include at least one subjective and one objective assessment method.

Objective Screening Methods (at least one):

• • Individual intelligence, achievement, or aptitude tests

  • Group intelligence, achievement, or aptitude tests

Subjective Screening Methods (at least one):

• • Referral, which includes scales of characteristics of giftedness and opportunity for comments. When the referral is made, the person referring should notify the student's parent.

    • • Teacher

      • Parents, peers, or members of the community

      • Student self-referral

  • Pupil products and performance records

SERVICES:

Grades K-2: Consultation between REACH teachers and classroom teachers on differentiation and enrichment.

Grades 3-12: REACH Services (Presently, two full-time staff members are employed by MSAD 11 in the Gifted and Talented Program.)

Referral and identification are ongoing.
