Welcome to the Teacher Page!
My vision for this website is for teachers like you to use it with your students in order to support their learning of the time standards. In can be used as a fully online course or you can tailor it to meet your traditional classroom needs. All of the Common Core State Standards for time are included in this course. Only 1st grade through 4th grade have standards for time:
First Grade
CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.1.MD.B.3
Tell and write time in hours and half-hours using analog and digital clocks.
Second Grade
Tell and write time from analog and digital clocks to the nearest five minutes, using a.m. and p.m.
Third Grade
Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Fourth Grade
Use the four operations to solve word problems involving distances, intervals of time, liquid volumes, masses of objects, and money, including problems involving simple fractions or decimals, and problems that require expressing measurements given in a larger unit in terms of a smaller unit.
Another vision I have is that teachers and others will add to this site by emailing activities and resources to me at ctooley@mrpk.org. I will include them under the appropriate resource tab (each skill has a resource tab). If the materials are for cross-curricular activities, they will be posted on this page. Finally, I am open to suggestions on how to improve this site.
