The JPs in the Community Program (JPiCP) has been established for over 15 years. Teams of about 2,300 volunteers are active in more than 230 community signing sites located in shopping centres, courthouses, hospitals, libraries and other community locations across Queensland. The JPiCP envisions increasing the number of JPs and Comm Decs who provide general witnessing services to the community in our state.

Before volunteering at a JPiCP signing site register with the JP Branch. You will receive your shirt and be added to the mailing list.
If you are newly trained or feel you need to be brought up to date contact the JP Branch and ask to be allocated a mentor
At the start of each shift at a JPiCP signing site make sure the contact number for site security is available to be called in emergency
Should any untoward incidents occur when dealing with clients make sure to fill in an Incident Report Form and return it to the JP Branch
To aid other JPs on duty in the event of sudden illness it is sensible to have an In Case of Emergency (ICE) contact number in your mobile phone
Each signing site will have a different set up process. Some common checklist features include:
Retrieve key/parking permits from management office
Sign in/sign out sheets for shopping centre insurance cover
Sign in/sign out for signing site coordinator
Stats sheets recording name, shift hours, number of clients and documents
As well as a logbook and personal stamps most JPs carry:
Personal aide memoirs for complex and unusual document types
Spare blank forms for common document types
A Christian bible for oaths
