Physics is the study of everything in our physical surroundings, from inside a nucleus to the vast expanse of outer space. It is the basis for all other natural sciences like chemistry, biology, astronomy and more. Physics is not just for science buffs - it is for EVERYONE! Regardless of your plans after high school, it is a great thing that you are studying physics; the skills you develop in physics will transfer to many other disciplines.

Millard North offers several different physics courses. Any student who is planning to attend college is strongly encouraged to take general physics. Many students go on to take one of the AP courses after taking general physics, and some students looking for an extra challenge take AP Physics 1 first. Of course if you are in the IB program you will take these courses.
