Sign up to work on a Tech Crew! Following is a description of what you might do on each crew. If interested in working on a show- fill out a TECH Contract sheet and turn it in on the day of auditions. (You can download the contract sheet for the current show, below).
TECH CREW Jobs Summary
Costume Head- Keeps track of costumes, helps obtain costumes and fit to each character, works with director or director of costuming.
Costume Crew- Assists with obtaining and fitting costumes, hemming, quick changes and set up for performances. Works closely with Costume Head
Dramaturge- In charge of researching period costumes, attitudes, etiquette, language and implementing findings into production.
Head Carpenter- Leads crew with building scenery. Takes orders directly from Mrs. Phillips and helps to ensure hard work and safety of crew.
Head of Light Crew- Work with Mrs. Phillips as needed helping to hang and focus lights, oversees Light board Operator. May also apply for light board Operator Position
House Manager- Make sure all audience members are in auditorium when show starts. Organize house crew, ticket sales and presentation of other pre-show fundraisers.
House Crew- Assists with fundraisers in lobby and selling tickets or ushering before a performance.
Light Board Operator- Brings lights up and down cue to cue during the performances. Is needed during tech week. Possibly a couple rehearsals before.
Light Crew- Help with hanging/focusing lights- may aid in running lights during the show.
Make-up crew- Help apply appropriate make-up to actors.
Make-up Head- Help design and obtain appropriate make up for production. Ensure all cast members apply appropriate make-up. Apply specialty make-up.
Props Crew- Helps prop master assemble order and set props needed for production.
Props Master- Help research, purchase, assemble, order, and set props needed for production.
Publicity- Help design and distribute posters, announcements, etc… create commercials, talk to local businesses, be creative and boost ticket sales.
Run Crew- help change scenes and handle props and costumes during performances. Needed during tech week and rehearsals prior to.
Scenery Crew-Take orders from Head Carpenter. help build, paint, assemble scenery for each performance and rehearsal of One Act.
Sound Board Operator- responsible for sound cues during the performance.
Sound Designer- locates and compiles appropriate music and sound effects for performance
Stage Manager- Required at all rehearsals. Works with Mrs. Phillips and Mr. Catron at rehearsals, and during tech week. Communicates between all parties including cast and crew. Takes attendance, Records all blocking, checks stage and props before show- calls order of show, prompts actors when needed.
