Welcome to the BMS Learning Community Team 8 Omega,
Your mind and your body are changing at an incredible rate. It is a fascinating journey, and I am excited to be a part of it. Let's make the most of it. I commit to you my personal best every single day that we work together. That is just the way I am, it is part of my personality - grown out of my parents' teaching. Work with me to learn and improve with every lesson. Please, teach me something!
Being a Beadle Bulldog is terrific! We get to discover new ideas, figure out how things work, share thoughts with all kinds of people, and laugh with our friends. This is one of my favorite places to be.
For the last several years, I have taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and History on Teams Zeta and Rho. Now, I'm focusing fully on American History for Team 8 Omega. Everyone saves the best for last!
Before coming to Beadle, I was teaching math, and sometimes reading, at Central Middle School. When I first started teaching, my classrooms included fourth and fifth graders at Norman Rockwell Elementary School - Go Roadrunners!
During a previous life, I was a Senior Engineer (electrical failure analysis) for General Dynamics Space Systems Division in San Diego, California. Our business was building Atlas-Centaur rockets for launching spacecraft.
If I'm not at school, you might see me with my wife, Laura, at a Husker game (huge FANatics!), or I might be listening to music with my son, Josh, well not since I got a virus that damaged my cochlear nerves. I might pedal by on my unicycle or bicycle. If you are out on the back roads, I may zoom past on my Triumph Bonneville T120.
Anyone that loves the ocean as much as the Whale family might see us scuba diving, probably in the Caribbean Sea. The picture above is from St. Lucia, showing Laura and I with our host, Ponti, and two friendly engineering professors from the University of Colorado gearing up for a night dive.
Figuring out how the universe works, developing new ways of thinking and problem solving, and finding fascinating stories from the past are what I'm all about.
Come on Bulldogs - let's explore!
Hiking the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone - Elk, Bison, and Bears, Oh My!
