Our kindergarten snack will happen at 2:45pm daily.
There will be a SHARED SNACK option.
There will be an ADD ON SNACK option.
SHARED SNACK:
Please send in a snack to share, and I will divide/serve in a small dixie cup for students. *The shared snack MUST BE nut-free, (you can find this on the ingredient list on packaging.) Plan for it to serve serve 24 students. Usually a box of crackers can be divided into 24 small servings, or if the snack is pre-packed we will need 24 packs.
You can bring in a boxed, shared snack with your child's school supplies on August 27th, or you can send it in any day during the first week of school. If it's easier for you to drop it off in our office, just label it with "Sabby" and the staff will make sure it gets to us. THANK YOU!!
ADD ON SNACK:
If you would like to send an *add on* fruit or veggie to accompany the shared snack, I encourage you to do so daily. (it does not need to be a large amount... but, you know your child best!) The *add on* snack is optional, and it is just for your child, not to share.
Acceptable *add on* snacks include:
-Fruit
-Veggies
Ideas include: grapes, carrot sticks, cucumber rounds, half an apple/pear/banana, etc.
-cheese stick
FOOD SAFETY:
*There are students in our class and in our school with life-threatening peanut/nut allergies. Shared snacks must be easily identifiable (Goldfish, Cheez-its) and have an ingredient list on the packaging. Add on snacks must also be easily identifiable, and be a fruit, veggie, or cheese option only.
(there is a different system in place in the lunch room, and if you pack your child's lunch, you may chose to include something containing nuts)
IF… your child is bringing a lunch from home, please do not pack their *add on* snack inside their lunch-box. (sometimes when students open the lunchbox, they select something else for snack; for example a sandwich or a dessert treat)
Be sure you talk with your child about what their *add on* snack is, and where it is in the backpack.
Thank you!
