Dear Chemistry student,
This course is a college level chemistry course comparable to Chemistry 1020 at Anoka-Ramsey Community College. As a college course you will experience the same rigor, expectations and course policies as an ARCC student. You will also receive college credit for this course in addition to high school credit. Keep in mind that your grade in this class will be reflected on your permanent college transcript. This is an amazing opportunity to start accumulating college credit before even graduating high school. I look forward to learning with you this year.
VERY IMPORTANT DATES:
September 13th- Last day to drop class (for ARCC credit) without receiving a W (withdraw) on your college transcript
(Note: You can still take this class for high school credit but not ARCC college credit. You must make this decision and complete the necessary changes with your dean by the deadline)
April 16th- Last day to withdraw from ARCC
Course Materials:
Syllabus- Please be familiar with course policies, grading, and classroom procedures by reading the entire syllabus.

Required Course Materials:
Scientific calculator, paper, pens & pencils
Lab Attire Requirements:
When we conduct a lab that involves the use of chemicals, heat, or glassware you must wear proper lab attire. Labs that require this careful attire will be identified and announced days in advance to allow you to plan accordingly. Proper lab attire includes long pants and closed toe shoes that completely cover the feet (no heel or top of foot exposed). Shirts must be long enough that no skin is exposed on the sides or midriff. Students who are not dressed properly for the lab will be asked to wear a lab apron or may not be able to participate in the lab for their safety.
Course Materials
For each unit, refer to the unit schedule for daily agendas and course materials. Some course assignments will be assigned through Google Classroom which will be specified on the schedule.

This is our second year implementing the new Chemistry State Standards. Many standards are new to our curriculum and we are working towards melding the ARCC standards with the high school state standards. More resources will be available as we go through the year and changes are likely to occur. Our chemistry team is excited about these changes and look forward to learning beside our students this year!
