1. How are Chromebooks different from laptops?

2. Can students print from Chromebooks?

At this time, Mounds View does not support printing from Chromebooks, and what a great opportunity to explore a paperless classroom! Using Google Drive allows you to provide feedback to students without having to print and write on a paper. If a student does need a paper copy, he or she can print from one of the laptops or desktops available to them.

3. Can I install any programs on the Chromebook?

You can not install programs like Microsoft Office on Chromebooks, but there are other options you can use. Extensions are features that can help to personalize your browser and increase its functionality. Extensions that are pushed out to students can be accessed only when logged into the Chrome browser. This happens automatically when logging into a Chromebook. If students are under 13, teachers must fill out the Digital Resource Request form to have extensions pushed out to students.
