You will be choosing a poet to learn about and you will be creating a slideshow with pictures appropriate to a particular poem and text that includes quotes, from the poem, information about the poet, and interesting facts (think "pop-up video").
1. READ some POETRY. Pick something you like (or at least don't hate).
2. Read at least THREE poems by your tentatively selected poet. Does one of them resonate with you? (Do you feel a connection?) Good. Move on. If not, go back to step one. Do not just proceed because you don't want to do extra work. Find something you like. In the long run, it will be much more fun and you'll thank me. (You're welcome.)
3. Choose your favorite of the poems you read and THINK about it. Do some analysis like we practiced in class.
4. Research your poet. When did he/she live? What were his/her topics? Themes? Life experiences? Find out stuff.
5. Fill out your preliminary sheet and DOCUMENT YOUR SOURCES. Did you find out about Fred. G. Poemwriter on a web site? Write down where you got the info so you can cite your sources (in MLA format) later. YOU NEED THREE SOURCES. (This is called triangulating your data. Ask me for a demonstration on why three is the magic--minimum--number.)
6. Find pictures! These pictures should evoke the mood of the poem or follow the plot of the poem. Maybe they are symbols from the poem. You may take the photographs yourself (no copyright rules--yay!!) or you may use images from the computer, but ONLY those that are free domain. Just because it's on the internet does NOT mean you can copy and paste it into your project. Below are three ways to get photos free to use or share (or you can take your own):
7. You will need to log into Adobe Spark here https://spark.adobe.com/
