Purpose
MINNESOTA VALLEY AREA LEARNING CENTER
The Minnesota Valley Area Learning Center (MVALC) provides a non-traditional setting in which students in Western Minnesota can pursue a traditional high school diploma. The curriculum is designed to meet all local and state requirements for graduation.
WHAT IS THE MINNESOTA VALLEY AREA LEARNING CENTER?
- The Area Learning Center (ALC) is an alternative approach to education offering an individualized learning program.
- Learning programs are open to qualified students ages twelve (12) through adult.
- Classes are small and taught by certified teachers.
- Available classes range from remediation of basic skills to accelerated classes in all disciplines.
- Learning programs are developed with respect for individual learning styles and interests.
- Credit for academic work completed at the Area Learning Center is honored by the student’s home school district.
- Minnesota Valley Area Learning Center operates a year round program.
- Students also may, under certain circumstances, dual enroll at the Minnesota Valley Area Learning Center and their resident or home district.
