Today is an early dismissal on Friday!
Please have your child read for 20-30 minutes per night. Your child needs to have 35 AR points by the end of the first quarter which is Nov. 6. Today, your child should be at 51% of their AR goal. You are allowed to test from home, too. Here is the site:

One issue we are having is that kids are taking AR tests on books that are too easy for them. Your child was told their reading level.
If you are wanting a great website to check if a book is AR, go to arbookfind.com. I used this website as a parent when we would look for books at the public library.
Spelling words are in the planner and purple take home folder. Look at the week of Oct. 5 for the words. There will be a test on Thursday. The spelling words are posted on my class website.
We had a fun time celebrating Montevideo Homecoming. We went to a pep fest on Monday. We dressed up everyday. There is a parade today at 5:00 P.M.
On Wednesday, we went to Luther Haven for the first time. We will continue to go once a month to read and complete an activity with some friends.
We have library on Monday and Wednesday at 8:35 A.M.
The temperature in the classroom fluctuates and can be very cold and warm. I would recommend sending a sweatshirt to school everyday for your child. Also, gym will be going outside next week, so dress for the weather.
We will have gym and music everyday. Please make sure your child has appropriate shoes.

Math Target-I can find the perimeter.
Reading Target-I can find the main idea of a passage. I can identify the theme of the story.
