Do you want to make a difference in your local community?
The Tuolumne River needs your help!
Your tap water and electricity comes from the Tuolumne River.
We need volunteers to:
Haul tires and shopping carts out of the river
Remove trash and camps along the riverbank
Positive Outcomes:
Restoration of a natural habitat
Safe, beautiful park for our community to enjoy
Community service hours for students
Certificate of completion
Volunteer Waivers
Kindly Print and Fill the Form Prior to Arriving at the Clean Up Site for Convenience
We will have copies available when you sign in but for minors who need a parent/guardian signature, it is easier to do it in advance
Garbage bags, trash grabbers, gloves, and other basic clean-up supplies will be provided to volunteers.
The volunteer's age and physical limitations will be used to assign an appropriate area.
Only pick up things you are comfortable
Do not go in the water to pick up trash
Volunteers will be informed with what to expect, things to bring, and safety procedures
The policing agency responsible for the jurisdiction in the cleanup area is contacted to patrol the area informing illegal campers about the clean up and posting the camps that are in violation. This helps reduce the chances of volunteers coming into contact with illegal campers on the clean-up day and to provide an opportunity for people to remove their belongings from the area. This generally happens up to a week prior to the clean up events.
