This year we will be using Mathematics by Illustrative Math. The entire curriculum can be viewed at https://access.openupresources.org/curricula/our6-8math/en/grade-6/index.html. In addition to a print workbook, students will be interacting with the curriculum in a variety of ways. Students will always start in their Google Classroom to view assignments and instructional materials so it is crucial that students check in on this site daily.
Here is a list of some of the digital resources we will be using this year
Google Classroom: Students will access their assignments, view their grades and view many of their resources. This will be the homebase for students to track their progress and expectations..
Google drive: Students will save all of their documents here.
Loom: Teachers will record instructional videos.
McGraw-Hill Education app- In addition to a hardcopy book, our curriculum is accessible through this app. It should be preinstalled on students chromebooks.
Nearpod: In some math lessons students will be watching videos, completing activities and demonstrating their competence
We will also use Prodigy and/or Khan Academy for more digital practice of concepts.
2. . Math Games and Resources: a wide variety of games and resources.
3. Youcubed: Stanford University professor Jo Boeler is a leading researcher in math achievement. Her website has free classes to aid students in not only the important concepts in math, but also around the mindset that allows students to be most successful in math.
