Slow Connection
We strongly suggest to notify us immediately
We work with computers and we are not exempt from problems related to them acting erratic
After we check our end for any issues, the problem also might reside on your end and we will tell you what to check. Here are some basic steps
Computers and Networks - What to check:
PLEASE BYPASS any content filter or proxy server for your M5 server library domain name (Ex: https and http://domain.mlasolutions.com). This will help avoid congestion problems during peak hours and the bandwidth will not be compromised. Proxys are known for policing the network traffic and might change the packets
If the workstation has any "Internet Security" please exclude the catalog webside yourdomain.mlasolutions.com
Check to see if packet shaping is configured on the network. Please disable it or turn it off.
Do not close connections using the router/proxy or virtual switch.
Is it a wireless connection? Bandwidth and leaving the connection open will be an issue
Checking your ISP (Internet Service Provider):
When "Mandarin M5" is running slow, We need to check the response speed to our servers using the commands "tracert" and "ping". You might want to ask your technician for assistance running these utilities:
From your computer desktop, click on the "start" button in the lower left corner of the taskbar and in type "cmd". A black window will open, this is called the "command prompt".
Type: tracert yourdomain.mlasolutions.com > tracert.log (press enter)
Type: ping yourdomain.mlasolutions.com > ping.log (press enter)
Once done, you will return back to the "command prompt".
After you return to the "C" prompt, open the "C drive" and look for the files tracert.log and ping.log. Email us (support@mlasolutions.com) those files as an attachment. If you need help with this please call 800-426-7477 or email us.
NOTES:
Check your download speed, go to "www.speedtest.net" and run it. This test doesn't provide you many details about what might be happening but it is good to know.
In some networks, ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) traffic is blocked from exiting the local network, hence you might get "Requests Timed Out". If this is the case, please allow "tracert" to run. "Tracert" is a diagnostic tool to see if there is a problem upstream.
