Throughout our year, we will be using computer resources at school, and they will also be accessible at home. Most sites can be accessed via a child's Clever acount. Most passwords will consist of lunch code or lunch code with date of birth after. Otherwise, nearly everything is condensed to the child's school Google account.
Math
ST Math- Students have been instructed how to utilize our ST Math website as it will be regularly used. This site focused on student-led learning and self-discovery. Students are given little to no words / directions. It is their task to grapple with the information presented (numbers, pictures, etc) and solve how to navigate across the screen. All levels are connected to our Grade 4 Standards. *Students are expected to accummulate 90 mins weekly or 60+ puzzles.
Eureka / Great Minds- Our Math program materials are completely online. There are many resources, making it especially useful if out of school. Each Lesson is accompanied by an instructional video. There are different problem sets that students can solve online or print to work out by paper and pencil. This year, we will utilize the abundant resources, and will often solve on paper or whiteboards to demonstrate understanding, explaining through pictures, problem solving, or a written response.
What is also useful is students are able to access all grade levels. If you are looking to review or further challenge, you can toggle to a different grade level's materials. Supplementary materials are also available such as a parent guide to explain the standard / the expected learning outcome.
Xtra Math- A resource that we will use weekly to reinforce fact fluency.
Thinking Blocks- A great tool to create a visual tape diagram to solve multi-step word problems.
Other
Google Classroom- We will use this site over the year. Students may receive assignments, to complete. I will very often put supplementary resources to reinforce a concept that we are covering in a more concise way.
Science- Videos, notes, readings to go along with our in class work and projects will be sporadically posted on Google Classroom. Students will be using in class for the majority.
GMail- Students have their own account. They may at times receive an email from a teacher, or classmate if working on a group project. This will not be frequent, but more so for forwarding links or assignments.
iReady- Our diagnostic assessment tool used 3 times over the school year for ELA and Math. (Fall, Winter, and Spring). This will place students in their "just right" zones of learning across a variety of subjects such as Measurement, Number Sense, etc. Learning games are also available. Students can complete their self directed journey or work on teacher assignments.
Blooket, Quizziz, Kahoot- We use these are review sites or preteaching. Students are able to use to refresh themselves on past subjects.
