Responses show partial understanding. Student uses some art vocabulary, but ideas are general, incomplete, or only loosely connected to the artwork, theme, or media.

Responses show little understanding. Art vocabulary is missing or mostly incorrect, and ideas about the artwork, theme, or media are unclear or absent.
