WORK EXPERIENCE
This is my 12th year teaching at MIS, but my 14th year teaching. I love teaching music! I have the best job in the entire world!
EDUCATION
I graduated from Wingate University with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education (K-12) in May of 2012.Â
HOBBIES / INTERESTS
I love to watch the Food Network, I love to try new recipes, and I love to paint! Painting is my favorite hobby! I also like to travel to the North Carolina mountains and spend time with my family. I love to decorate my house, and go antique shopping for unique finds. I also like to play piano, and I have been taking lessons since I was five years old! Most of all, I love teaching and spending time with my little family.
FAVORITE MUSIC
My favorite musical group is Fleet Foxes. They have a mountain/folksy sound that is relaxing. My favorite Fleet Foxes song is "White Winter Hymnal." The group Pentatonix does an awesome cover of this song! I love jazz music and I also like to make up songs and raps. My favorite instrument is the voice because it can do so many things, and everyone's voice is unique!
This is a picture of my son, Hudson, and my daughter, Iris. Hudson just turned nine in June, and Iris turned six in April. Hudson is a 3rd grader this year, and Iris is in 1st Grade at Rocky River Elementary School! Family is really important to me. I love both of my children dearly!
My husband Kyle and I have been married for 12 years, and we just celebrated our anniversary in June. We have known each other since we were in the 3rd grade and we grew up in the same town. We actually went to rival high schools and then reconnected once we were in college. I love my family!
My family is a musical family! My husband Kyle plays the drums and can sing. We used to play in a band together. Hudson loves music, and Iris loves to dance! One of their favorite songs is "Scatman" by Scatman John.
