My Life
I have been married to my lovely wife Michelle for eighteen years. Michelle is the principal of a private school in Concord, North Carolina.
I have three sons and a daughter. Tyler is my 6’6’ sixteen year old is in 11th grade . Harrison is my 6'5” fifteen year old is in 9th grade. Julian is my 10 month old. My little princess, Maryne, is 10 years old and is in 5th grade.
I grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia where I worked as a director at a local news TV station, WTKR, a CBS affiliate. I moved to Maryland after joining Teach For America. I taught 4th and 5th grade in Maryland from 1992 – 2004. My family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio where I taught math to grades 1 – 5 in a private school. We moved Charlotte in 2010. This is my 7th year at MIS.
My Spare Time
Family time is the best. My sons and I can be found playing basketball all around town. Tyler and Harrison play on AAU Basketball Teams. Harrison played on the Big Shots team out of Raleigh, while Tyler played on Team United out of Charlotte. I have posted a few videos of them on YouTube. I enjoy reading and drawing. I love to honor my late mother, Mary, by cooking some of her famous recipes. Her homemade carrot cake is a family favorite.
I also DJ from time to time for local schools and events. I especially like playing music that brings joy to people's lives.
I enjoy producing music as well. As a musician, I have produced several CD's that have been released on iTunes. I used my Apple computer, Logic Pro, and Garageband to create my songs.
