Suggestions for Students:

  • Make sure you understand the assignment.

  • Study where it is quiet - away from TV, radio, and conversation.
  • Have all the necessary materials ready before you start.
  • Estimate the amount of time needed and pace yourself.
  • Tackle the hardest subject first - save the best till last.
  • Check your work for neatness and to correct errors.
  • Take pride in your work and do your best.
  • Don't leave home without it!

  • Praise attempts to produce good quality work.
  • Motivate the child who finds it difficult to concentrate on the task.
  • Provide a well-lit, uncluttered environment that is quiet and without distractions of TV, radio, or telephone.
  • Ask your child to explain the purpose of assignments, the directions, and what is expected.
  • Be ready to help - direct, but don't do the homework.
  • Check each day to see that assignments are completed.
  • Look for ways to apply what your child is learning in school.
