- Don't leave home without it!

- Praise attempts to produce good quality work.
- Motivate the child who finds it difficult to concentrate on the task.
- Provide a well-lit, uncluttered environment that is quiet and without distractions of TV, radio, or telephone.
- Ask your child to explain the purpose of assignments, the directions, and what is expected.
- Be ready to help - direct, but don't do the homework.
- Check each day to see that assignments are completed.
- Look for ways to apply what your child is learning in school.
