Tucson

Tucson is located in southern Arizona, about 60 miles north of Mexico (map). Tucson is in the Sonoron desert, surrounded by mountains (see link for some of its history). Weather: The weather in Tucson in March runs from daytime highs in the 70's to 80's and lows in the night to the 40's. Here is a link to the weather.

Getting Here

Airports: We recommend flying into Tucson directly. The Tucson International Airport (TUS) is 10 miles south of Tucson. However, one can also fly into Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), about 100 miles from Tucson, and then take a shuttle from Phoenix to Tucson: Arizona Shuttle.

Taxi: A taxi should be around $30 to downtown Tucson.

Lodging: A block of rooms has been reserved at Homewood Suites link.

WIFI: There is free wireless internet on campus using the `guest' login.

Eating out: Several restaurants, 5-10 minutes walk from campus, can be found on University Blvd. which is immediately West of campus. On 4th Avenue, there are other places, but they are a longer walk.

Lecture Room and Posters location: ENR2 S395. The building is located at 1064 E Lowell St. Here is an interactive map of the UA campus. Here is a printable map.

Parking: The closest garage is the Sixth St. Parking Garage, immediately East of ENR2, with entrances on 6th St as well as on E. Lowell St. Map

Banquet: There will be a conference banquet in honor of Rabi Bhattacharya on the evening of Saturday, March 18. Attendance is limited. More info on location, time (likely 6pm), and how to get there will be added soon.
