Our benchmark test will be given 5 times this year. We use the benchmark test to track student learning and monitor which concepts need more focus, more review, or more instructional time. You can view the data each time the benchmark is given by clicking the following link:
An online reading program that provides students with informational (non-fiction) text molded to their reading ability.
Student's lexile levels are updated monthly. We will track each student's lexile level to see if they're progressing as a reader.
Achieve 3000's precisely differentiated content and scaffolds give ALL students access to the same standards-aligned information and ideas so EVERY reader, struggling or advanced, can progress toward college and career success.
Everyday from 2:33-2:55. Students who have a D, a F, or missing assignment(s) in a class will report to that class for 1 week to get help. Students who have all A's, B's, or C's will be allowed to leave school (if they have a ride) or have free time in the gym! The concession stand is also open during homeroom!
Your child will use our AR program in the 7th grade. Your student has a new goal each nine weeks. A reward will be given to those who meet their AR point goal & comprehension goal. Each student must maintain at least 80% comprehension to be eligible to receive the AR reward at the end of the quarter.
Also, for each 25% over the student's AR goal is met, their name will be entered in a drawing for $50 cash!! One 7th grader and one 8th grader will win each quarter!
Each time your student meets his or her AR goal, they will earn 1 point for their house. Double goal=2points, triple goal=3 points, quadruple goal=4 points, etc.

You must log in using your child's AR username & password.
You can elect to receive an email each time your student takes a test. This is a great way to monitor your student's AR progress.
Monitor Your Student's Grades
You can access all of your student's grades using our student information system ALMA. Parent/Student logins are available by going to www.massac.org and clicking on ALMA at the top, then choosing the school your student attends (Massac Junior High School).
