In November 2010, Martinez voters approved a $45 million bond (Measure K) to improve facilities district-wide. In November 2016, voters approved a $120 million bond (Measure R) to improve facilities district-wide, with a focus on elementary school sites. The Citizens' Oversight Committee has been established to oversee Measure K and Measure R bond proceeds, expenditures, and review the audit reports.
The Citizens' Oversight Committee is comprised of residents of Martinez with the sole mission of ensuring that general obligation bond dollars are spent according to the language approved by the voters.
