About Me

My name is Katelyn Youngsma. I attended middle school and high school in Springfield, MO. I have always loved singing and being onstage. I performed in Branson for many years with a group called American Kids. I sang at many churches, festivals, and fairs, as well as at Silver Dollar City. I was also very involved in Band and Choir throughout my school years. I was a member of All District Choir for 2 years and a member of All State Choir for 1 year. I also received three 1 ratings at State Solo and Ensemble. I had many great music teachers that inspired me to want to share my love for music. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. I was a member of Chorale, Chamber Choir, the Higher Ground worship team, Wind Symphony, and Jazz ensemble during my time at SBU. I graduated in May of 2014. I graduated with my Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from Arkansas State University in May of 2020. I married my college sweetheart, Grant on August 30, 2014. He is currently the middle school special education teacher here in Marionville and coaches middle school football and softball. I have taught at Marionville for 9 years and I love being a Comet. I am looking forward to sharing my love of music with your student this year!
