Component 1: Devising

This accounts for 40% of your overall grade:

• total of 60 marks

• 15 marks awarded for performance

• 45 marks awarded for portfolio

Component 2: Performance (Exam)

This accounts for 20% of your overall grade:

• a total of 48 marks

• a performance of 2 extracts from the same text (24 marks per performance extract)

• performances can be monologues, duologues or group pieces

Top Tips:

• Watch as much performance as possible - National Theatre, RSC, Frantic Assembly, Bristol Old Vic - there's lots to choose from and they're all FREE so take advantage over the summer!

• Practice vocal exercises daily - you are awarded marks for your vocal skills!

• Learn more about your craft using BBC Bitesize - there's lots of useful tips on the website.

Component 3: Theatre Makers in Practice (Written Exam)

This accounts for 40% of your overall grade:

• Divided into 2 sections

• Section A - 6 questions based on an unseen extract for our chosen set text (Blue Stockings), a total of 45 marks.

• Section B - 2 questions based on a live theatre performance, a total of 15 marks.
