When creating any kind of text, we need to think of:

Purpose- why is this being made? What do you want people to think or feel in response?

Audience- Who is this for?

Conventions- What are the things that all of these types of texts have in common?

What social issue will you choose? You can use the speech topic if that is applicable, or another.
