Welcome to class! During this yearlong course we will be exploring a number of great works in the Western literary tradition and examining what defines these works as “classic” literature. As outlined in the program of studies we will address the following essential questions: What forms can a classic take? How do authors utilize the elements of fiction? How does one communicate effectively? With these questions in mind we will do a significant amount of reading, analyzing, discussing, and writing. This course will stress critical essay writing (so be prepared for frequent writing assignments), as well as skill building in grammar, usage, and vocabulary.
This website will provide you with access to important course information (syllabus, class calendar, etc.), which can be found below. Daily assignments and handouts will be made available to you via Google Classroom, so be sure to check there frequently.
