Reading is one of the most important skills your child will learn in school.  With all skills, improvement comes with practice, and John Hydock Media Center provides a wide variety of books for students to borrow for reading practice, information, and enjoyment.

** Each cycle, your child will be able to check out two books to bring home. They will be able to keep these books for one cycle and return it on their next scheduled media center day.

** If a child does not return their book, another book may not be checked out until that one is returned. Please help your child to bring books back on time. It's fun to get new books! A book may be renewed (checked out again) if the student is not finished reading it.

** Encourage your child to spend time reading at home every day. Enjoy the books with them!

** Students are responsible to handle library books with care, since they are for everyone to share. Please keep books away from pets, food, liquids, and young siblings.

** To avoid misplacing the books, create a special place in your home to keep books, or keep them in your student’s book bags.

** If a book is lost, please make every effort to locate it. Payment towards a replacement will be requested from the parents for books that cannot be found.
