How will your child grow this year?
Social & Emotional
Shows interested in new tasks and experiences with confidence
Interacts with other children positively
Engages in pretend play
Takes care of own needs independently (dressing/undressing, cleaning up, washing/drying hands, and potty trained)
Controls own feelings and behaviors, and asks for help when needed to resolve problems
Follows rules and routines
Language
Hears and understands most of what is said at home and in school
Friends and relatives should understand your child's speech
Pays attention to short stories and answers simple questions about it

How you can help your child...
Encourage your child to play
Practice independence in dressing, undressing, potty training, and small jobs around the house
Allow no more than 2 hours of screen time per day (TV, video games, iPad/computer)
Send your child to bed by 8 PM.
Engage in conversation daily with your child about school, food, toys, and friends.
Read daily with your child.
Ask your child questions (who, what, when, where, why, and how)
Be aware of your child's feelings and help them identify why they feel that way.
