Highland students were honored at a Good Citizen's Ceremony by receiving the first Red Lantern Award! The Red Lantern Award is given to students who exemplify the Husky Philosophy by having a strong work ethic and a determination to learn. The Red Lantern symbol is modeled after the Iditarod races in Alaska where a red lantern is kept lit until the final sled finishes the race. The last sled receives the Red Lantern as proof of their perseverance and determination.
