Khan Academy - Collection of many, many videos of math topics taught and math problem examples worked out. This site is free and very powerful. Students can register their teachers as coaches and they can work as a team.
NCTM Illuminations - A group of visualizations for different math concepts
Real World Math Problems - (See list at bottom of this page) A collection of links to real world math problems to develop your students' problem solving skills in line with the Practice Standards of the CCSS.

Abacus Web Page - Page gives the history of the abacus as well as a tutorial on how to use an abacus. Many interactive links and resources available.

Brightstorm - Over 2000 free math videos organized by topic. You can also click a textbook link and see the videos and lesson organized by the chapters in our book.
Bloom's Taxonomy - A revised Bloom's from Iowa State.
Calcoolate - Very Cool. Does calculations, conversions, and keeps a history of your calculations. Real nice for teaching students to follow their steps in calculations without carrying around rolls of calculator tape.

Complex Instruction Consortium (CIC) - The Complex Instruction Consortium is a network of math educators dedicated to improving math education through ongoing collaboration, online discussions, sharing resources, and in-person workshops. Computer Flow Chart for Students interested in computer programming at Maine West - The AAT and Math departments have come together to clarify the path that students should take computer programming and science courses that will ultimately end with AP Computer Science.
Computer Science Recruitment - Document provides evidence of the importance of having a computer science credit for different occupations. Links are included to different universities.
Core4All - How to use the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) as the vehicle to drive classroom curriculum. Site provides a roadmap to create units of study using the SACI framework. Site also includes a helpful blog.
CRS - College Readiness Standards: Standards for ACT / PSAE test.
Culturally-Situated Design Tools - Many cultural designs are based on mathematical principles. This software will help students learn standards-based mathematics as they simulate the original artifacts, and develop their own creations.
Desmos Free Graphing Utility - This is so cool. It is online and free. You can type in equations and even variable value sliders and it will show the graph. I could not get the export to work, but if you use a free screen capture like Jing or my personal favorite, ScreenPresso, you can still get the image into your documents.
dy/dan - Dan Meyer's Blog on how to be "less helpful". He has algebra and geometry links and a section called "what can you do with this (WCYDWT)".

Experiment and Explore Math - Experiment and Explore Mathematics: Tutorials and Tests Interactive mathematics site that includes several java applets to help you explore mathematical concepts and topics.
Explore Learning - Website with gizmos and class lesson creators. I have a login if you would like to look into this for use in our classes. We could consider a site license like our science department has.

Interactive Equation Balance - This applet allows the user to type in an expression and see it represented with a balance (scale).

Loop Letter - This is an English and Spanish version of the letter sent to parents of Algebra I students near the beginning of the year concerning our Loop program.
MAP Test Site - Site with information for parents about the MAP test from NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association)

Problems without Figures - Great book of problems that really help students to discuss the math without being frozen of fear of not getting the correct numerical answer because none of the problems have all of the numbers to solve the problems. Some of the problems need editing due to the date the book was written, but it looks like a great resource.
Questioning - A great list of questions you can use in the classroom to raise the cognitive level of the discourse of your students.
