About The Coaches

Head Coach

 Amanda Harrison

A home grown Warrior, Coach A. graduated Maine West last century, were she was a 4 year Varsity Gymnast, 2 Year Captain, and a 3 Year sectional qualifier. A cool fact about Coach A, she was a member of the Jesse White Tumbling team during high school.

After graduation, She went on to volunteer at Maine West and in 2004 became an IHSA Judge for gymnastics. She then became the head coach at Maine East HS in 2009. Coach A. started as Head Coach at Maine West in 2012. In her years at West, she has taken gymnasts to the state level and they have broken many school records.

Coach A. lives at home with her amazing family who are all part of the Warrior family.  Her son is at U of I-Champaign and her daughter is a University of Cincinnati in Ohio.

In Coach A.'s spare time when she is not at West, she enjoys photography, moonlighting at a local Animal Hospital, baking and enjoying sitting on her deck. During the day, Coach A. works in the main office at West, were she is the sub coordinator/switchboard. As the saying goes, Once a Warrior, always a Warrior!

Assistant Coach

Stephanie Schillinger

This will be Coach Schillinger’s forth year coaching.  Coach Schillinger brings the experience in gymnastics, cheerleading, and dance.  During her elementary school years, she was a competitive all-star cheerleader.  When she began high school at Maine West, she joined the gymnastics team.  She participated all four years and was captain her senior year.  She then went back to cheerleading at Benedictine University for 2 ½ years.  Coach Schillinger also took dance and tumbling classes for much of her life.  Her experiences in all of these areas helps her bring a variety of skill and experience to the team.  Currently she attends Oakton Community College pursuing her Physical Therapy Assistant Certification.  She still attends dance classes and occasionally works as a substitute tumbling instructor at the dance studio.  She volunteers at a local animal shelter and loves spending time with her two rescue pups.
