To find your parallel port: Most of the time the standard place will be at 0x378. Sometimes, less often it will be at 0x278. For the machines upstairs your best bet is to look in the file /proc/ioports. There's a ton of stuff in there. Look for parport0. For what it is worth, on at least one machine the address was 0xcc18.
