Description
IDEXX is looking for an Associate Scientist to join our growing R&D organization in the Process Transfer team! This person will perform activities to transfer and scale-up new reagents, products and processes to Manufacturing.
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of scientific activities to support the development, maintenance, improvement and understanding of our products and reagent production processes. Participates on a technically-focused team as an approach to define technical solutions. Executes experiments and/or follows standard protocols at the laboratory bench. Generates, documents, and analyzes results. Prepares solutions and reagents. Communicates and presents to colleagues.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or other scientific field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
· Basic scientific knowledge required. Some basic lab & safety skills from college courses, internships, or prior job experience required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Basic lab, instrumentation, and safety skills from college courses, internship, or prior job (examples may include pipetting, use of balance, pH meter, solution prep, etc.).
· Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
· Organizational skills and ability to plan work. Adaptable.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Takes initiative and is accountable (shows ownership); focuses on task at hand; detail oriented.
· Ability to work well under pressure and handle the stress of deadlines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Laboratory setting with varying levels of noise and exposure to various potential chemical and biological hazards.
· Compliance with approved laboratory practices is required.
