I am a full-time tenured faculty member in Health Education, with my workload split between teaching health education classes and serving on college-wide projects (SLO Team)

Adding a class after it is full:

If the course has not yet started and it is full, put yourself on the waitlist. Then monitor your CCSF email -- if a spot opens, Admissions & Records will let you know and then you have only a day or two to claim that spot, before it goes to the next person.  If the course has already started, there's no waitlist -- instead, submit a request for class add authorization through the registration system (known as MyRAM or Web4). Then send me an email to tell me why you want to take the class. If there's space, I'll authorize your add request. Then you can add the class.  Note -- you aren't added to the class when I authorize it, you still have to add it yourself.  (That's because registering (or not) is your choice, not ours.)

About Me:

I teach in the Health Education Department at City College of San Francisco (http://www.ccsf.edu/healthed). The chair of Health Education is Beth Freedman . While I am no longer the coordinator of the Trauma Prevention & Recovery Certificate, I do still provide some assistance to that program and can answer questions about it.

I have been teaching at CCSF since 2004, and have over 25 years of experience in adult education and community health.  My work (in and out of the classroom) has touched on issues of human rights, violence, gender, workforce development and community mobilization. I love CCSF because of the diversity of students, the commitment of the faculty and the opportunity to make a difference. I received my Masters in Public Health (Community Health Education) from U.C. Berkeley in 1998.

I have a particular interest in teaching about the social determinants of health. I created a website with materials for faculty and students interested in this topic during my last sabbatical.
