Madison Meadows STUCO spent the day at the State Capital. The day began with a guided tour of the Capitol Museum. We were then greeted by lobbyist Jay Kaprosy, Bremmer Kaprosy's dad (6th grade). Meadows STUCO was invited onto the floor of the House of Representatives by Representatives Kelli Butler and Aaron Lieberman. The students had the amazing opportunity to debate and vote on a mock bill on the floor of the House. Mr. Kaprosy then escorted Meadows STUCO to the Senate for a bird's eye view from the gallery. Senator Brophy-McGee acknowledged the members of Meadows STUCO who were greeted with applause from the floor. Meadows witnessed bills being voted on by the Senate. This was a real life version of what they just participated in at the House of Representatives. Once session was over Senator Brophy-McGee came to the gallery to meet the members of Meadows STUCO and invited them onto the Senate floor for a Q&A session. What an amazing experience! Ms. Vacanti, Mrs. Bracamonte, Mrs. Bradely and Ms. Whitney are so very proud of our STUCO and how they represented Meadows in a professional manner. We are also grateful for the amazing opportunities we are able to share in our learning community.
