About Mrs. Siebert
I am delighted to be beginning my 10th year at MTA. 2025 marks my 28th year of teaching and my fourteenth year in Madison School District. I graduated from NAU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, and a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. I have a Reading Endorsement and an ESL Endorsement, and am highly qualified in Middle Grades Language Arts.
I moved to Flagstaff, Arizona when I was 9 years old. My class was the first graduating class of Sinagua High School. I loved growing up in the mountains and enjoy downhill skiing. I was a proud member of the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra violin section for six years.
I had the privilege of studying Spanish in Salamanca, Spain while in college. It was here that I first became interested in Second Language Acquisition. My first teaching job was teaching English conversation at the Kanagawa Institute of Technology, in Hon Atsugi, Kanagawa, Japan. There are a lot of differences between Japanese schools and American schools.
After Japan, I moved to Phoenix, got married, and began my career in the Alhambra School District. I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 6th grades, and spent several years as a reading coach and Success for All facilitator.
I have two sons that attended K-8 in the Madison School District. This year, Orion will be a Freshman at ASU, and Jayden is in 11th grade. They keep me busy and laughing.
My hobbies include downhill skiing, playing the violin, camping, and of course, READING!
