Blackboard Resources courses are created so that academic users (students, faculty or both) can access a set of shared resources housed in a central Blackboard course.
Blackboard Committee courses are created so that relatively small groups of faculty, staff, students, and external users with guest accounts can collaborate and communicate within a Blackboard course.
Resources / Committee courses are listed under the "Resource / Committee" term in the Courses list in Blackboard Learn.
There are four options available when enrolling members in an Resource / Committee course:
Self-enroll - any MacEwan user can enroll themselves in the course.
Self-enroll with password - a specific password is shared with members which they use to enroll in the course.
Instructor enroll – the course instructor adds members to the course using the Manage Users tool.
Batch enroll - this option is available to Blackboard support staff only. When the projected number of members is over 75, we suggest submitting a request to have members enrolled using this method. Course instructors will need to arrange to have a list of users assembled from PeopleSoft and sent in appropriate format to Blackboard support.
If they haven't done so already, course instructors are urged to take a Blackboard Learn training session.
Only Blackboard administrative staff have the ability to create a Resource / Committee course. Please use the link below to request the creation of a course.
