Coach Max

Max joins Macalester after having had the pleasure of coaching across the country, previously working as an assistant for Olympus Aquatics in Salt Lake City, Lake Forest Swim Club in Lake Forest, IL, and most recently at Edina Swim Club.

As a coach, Max enjoys working with swimmers of all ages and skill levels who possess a variety of goals unique to their experience. He enjoys drills that develop body strength and control, and workouts served in different styles of challenge, finding the methods that best push an athlete to discover their individual superpowers.

Max graduated from Lake Forest College in 2022, where he was a 4-year member and captain of the Swim & Dive program. Previous to that, he grew up swimming for St. Croix Swim Club in Stillwater.

Coach Wilson

Wilson has coached at Macalester since August 2017, working as an assistant for the college's varsity program and the head coach of the masters team. Prior to his time at Mac, Wilson was a lead coach for the Edina Swim Club's age group program and the Head Coach of the Concord Blue Dolphins.

An avid Masters swimmer himself, Wilson hopes to encourage in his swimmers a lifelong appetite for the sport and all it has to offer. With special affection for technical work and high-speed, high-rest swimming, his goal is to make every swimmer feel stronger, faster, and more confident—in the water and out.

Since 2020, he has served on the US Masters Swimming national Coaches Committee and the USMS Diversity and Inclusion committee.
