Who is Mrs. Morrison?
I am a mother of three wild boys, Kase, Kaden, and James. I'm the wife of Shane Morrison, a business owner of a plumbing company in La Vernia. I was raised in San Antonio by my parents, Judy and Mickey Gavlick. I have two siblings, Melissa Slagle and Duane (Chip) Gavlick.
From age three, I have danced with the Hermon Sons of Dance at the downtown facility. I performed as a Polkateer from age twelve to sixteen, where I competed yearly, around Texas. I attended McCollum High School in San Antonio was a member and Colonel of The Gold Star Dance Team, receiving Miss High Kick, invitations to Maui Hawaii, and Macy's Thanksgiving parade. I became an officer of TDEA, my junior year. I graduated high school in 2003.
From there, I attended Southwest Texas University (now Texas State University) working two jobs. I became a member of the Dean’s List and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance and Communications Applications. Throughout college, I was able to perform in a Performance Arts program at Palo Alto College, I taught Jazz and Hip Hop to children and adults at the dance studio, Encore Dance Dimensions.
After college, I was employed at East Central ISD where I received my certificate in EC-4. I have been employed at La Vernia ISD since August 2010. Since then, I taught at the Primary School for two years, and transferred to the high school in 2012, while directing our wonderful LV HoneyBears; though I resigned from coaching, that organization will forever have a huge place in my heart. My certificates consist of EC-4, ESL, English Language Arts, Communications Applications, and Dance 8-12. I love my students, I love my job, and I'm here to help, inspire, and motivate ALL of our students here at La Vernia High School.

Honors classes will complete connection points that count as one major grade each quarter due to connection points not being a part of our TEKS curriculum, I ask that a guardian signs as an acknowledgment of student choice projects each quarter.
