My Professional Life:
I am a dyslexia therapist in La Vernia ISD. I have been teaching since 1996. I have taught kindergarten-eighth grade,and I have been teaching strictly dyslexia since 2012. I love what I do! After some intense schooling, I received my dyslexia therapy license in 2018. I am looking forward to helping all children who come though our school.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education
Master's Degree in Reading
Master's Degree in Special Education (Educational Diagnostician)
Training in the Dyslexia Intervention Program out of Region IV
Two Year training from Scottish Rite on Take Flight
Licensed Dyslexia Therapist
My Personal Life:
I grew up on a small ranch near Kerrville, Texas. I knew from a very small age that I wanted to teach. I graduated from high school in 1992 and attended Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State). I graduated in 1996 and began my teaching career in Stockdale. I continued my teaching career in San Antonio the next year, and I taught there from 1997-2009. Somewhere in there I was able to meet the love of my life, and we married in 2000. We had one child in 2003 and our second child in 2007. In 2009, we moved to La Vernia where my son began kindergarten. These children of mine keep me on my toes and teach me lessons everyday. I love the life I live.
