Two Week Look ahead

Two Week Look Ahead - September 4, 2018

We are off to a great school year. People are energized and have started the year on a very positive note. We are currently having class meetings this week during Advisory blocks. We will be distributing Chromebooks on Wed. & Thur. for Grade 10. Grade 9 will have Chromebooks distributed next week. We are still waiting for the protective covers to be delivered for the 9th grade Chromebooks.

GRADE 10 STUDENTS MUST HAVE THE Chromebook Agreement (2018-2019) SIGNED BY A PARENT OR GUARDIAN FOR TOMORROW DISTRIBUTION OR WE CANNOT ISSUE A Chromebook TO THE STUDENT.

All of Grade 10 received an email with the Chromebook Agreement (2018-2019) today. If they are unable to open or need another link you can go here:

From Our Tech Team:

To All Parents,

We would like to apologize for the confusion with the ChromeBook insurance website. Our school was not on the drop down list to choose and neither was the model numbers for the Chromebooks we are using. I have spoken to the company and this issue has been resolved.

Here is another link to the direct website to purchase the insurance.

https://www.securranty.com/lunenburg

Once you are at this website you will need to click on BUY NOW. This will bring you to the purchasing process and the information will be on the drop down lists that you will need now.

Thank you for being patient with this process.

I have become much more comfortable using Twitter over the past years, so I will be sending tweets on a regular basis. I will be sending out many more updates from classroom visits and projects going on during the school day. Follow me on Twitter: @LHS_BlueKnights to get regular updates. You can also get alerts from Twitter even if you do not have an account. All you have to do is text “follow @LHS_BlueKnights” to Twitter’s shortcode, 40404, and you will start getting real time updates.

Now that the fall season is almost upon us, I hope you will come out to support our student-athletes on the playing fields. Our athletes have been practicing all summer in anticipation of the fall season. They are really great kids and I’m confident that they will do a great job of representing the Lunenburg community at home and away games. Besides Twitter, I will be updating the digital sign on Mass. Ave. with upcoming events at school. I hope you can find time to come out to events.

Here is a schedule of events over the next couple of weeks. Only varsity home games are listed. Typically, the junior varsity games are played directly before or directly after. See the LHS website (under Athletics) and/or the Activity Scheduler App.

That night we will also have an exhibit in the LHS collaborative space called “Hidden in Plain Sight”. This is a drug awareness exhibit which will be delivered by Jill Wooldridge from the District Attorney’s Office. This is an excellent exhibit and I encourage all parents to view it during a study period, VHS period, or STEP period. This exhibit will help parents understand how easy it is for drug paraphilia to resemble everyday objects. THIS EXHIBIT IS MEANT FOR PARENTS ONLY! If you have any questions about this exhibit please feel free to contact me at rmcgrath@lunenburgonline.com
