Two Week Look Ahead

Two Week Look Ahead - September 13, 2019

We are off to a great school year. People are energized and have started the year on a very positive note. We held all our class meetings last week during Advisory blocks. We also distributed Chromebooks to Grade 9 last week.

The ChromeBook insurance is something we do not require but strongly recommend purchasing. You can do this on the LHS website under Technology: Chromebook Information (2019-2020)

I have become much more comfortable using Twitter over the past years, so I will be sending tweets on a regular basis. I will be sending out many more updates from classroom visits and projects going on during the school day. Follow me on Twitter: @LHS_BlueKnights to get regular updates. You can also get alerts from Twitter even if you do not have an account. All you have to do is text “follow @LHS_BlueKnights” to Twitter’s shortcode, 40404, and you will start getting real time updates.

Now that the fall season is almost upon us, I hope you will come out to support our student-athletes on the playing fields. Our athletes have been practicing all summer in anticipation of the fall season. They are really great kids and I’m confident that they will do a great job of representing the Lunenburg community at home and away games. Besides Twitter, we will be updating the digital sign on Mass. Ave. with upcoming events at school. I hope you can find time to come out to events.

LHS Open House was a great success and I want to thank parents for their support. A program called “Hidden in Plain Sight” was held at open house last night. This was a drug awareness exhibit which was delivered by Eileen Kneeland from the District Attorney’s Office. This was an excellent drug awareness exhibit that was designed to help parents understand how easy it is for drug paraphilia to resemble everyday objects.

2022 Class Dues

The Class of 2022 will begin collecting dues next week. Please see Grace, your class treasurer, or Mrs. Vallee in the library. Dues for this year will be $10 until November 1st. After that, class dues for this year will increase to $15. As a reminder, if students did not pay their dues last year then $25 is due this year. Dues for each year must be paid before students can attend prom and other activities. Checks can be made out to Town of Lunenburg and please add your student's name to the memo line.

Some families paid for all four years last year, and families may also pay $30 now for this year and the next two years. Families utilizing the Free & Reduced Lunch program are not expected to pay class dues. If you have any questions or are unsure whether dues have been paid last year, please contact Mrs. Vallee at pvallee@lunenburgonline.com. Thank you!
