Art Class:

The Illustration class recently submitted single panel gag cartoons to Air Mail magazine for publication consideration. Airmail is a weekly national magazine that launched in 2018 and only reviews cartoons on an invitational basis. Prior to Air Mail, Cartoon Editor Bob Mankoff was the Cartoon Editor at Esquire and The New Yorker and is the founder of a global cartoon licensing company called Cartoon Collections. In additon to Air Mail, one cartoon from each Illustration student will also be submitted to The New Yorker for publication consideration.

YEARBOOK:

This year, more than ever, we ask that you join us in helping to create our 2021 Yearbook!

This year looks different for everyone and we would appreciate your help in gathering pictures to capture memories throughout the year. What are some ways you could help us achieve this?

  • Send us pictures (and questions) to yearbook@lunenburgschools.net.

  • When you or your student sees an email in regards to the yearbook, open it! Complete the form requesting information and pictures! Easy.

  • Capture CANDID moments and send them to us. By candid we mean non-posed....but, we'll take posed ones too

  • Student organizations definitely deserve some love: help us gather memories of meetings, practices or virtual events.

  • Calling all athletes: we are talking about school sports or extracurricular sports. Share your stories and photos!

  • If you or a parent you know takes pictures at student events, please email us.

  • Take photos of ANYTHING that happens in your home that connects back to our school, whether virtually or in-person.

  • We want to feature any students who are doing something awesome!

Examples: Suzie is getting her pilot’s license? Tommy was accepted to a really cool program for Latin? Email us!

This yearbook is unique in that we want it to be created by the whole school. Thank you in advance for being a part of this historic year.

AJ Robbins Thanksgiving for All:

Helping others through difficult times has never been more important than now. There are thousands of families in our own and neighboring communities who are struggling to put food on their family table. Many places that typically fill this need have cancelled for this year. The hole needs to be filled. AJ was great at filling the hole on Thanksgiving Day High School football games and now he is doing it where it really makes a difference.

Together we can try to bring peace and happiness to these families on Thanksgiving Day by providing the necessities for a meal to celebrate.

The AJ Robbins Memorial Foundation will make an initial gift of $2000 to support this effort.

As a guide, a family of four basket will cost approximately $50. We would like to try to make at least 250 baskets thus requiring around $10,000. We have shoppers, basket assemblers and delivery people. Donations in ANY amount – the cost of a can of corn, the cost of a bag of potatoes, the cost of a turkey, the sponsoring of a single family of 4 or more are all welcomed and sincerely appreciated.

You can donate by check made out to AJ Robbins Memorial Fund and mailed to:

AJ Robbins Memorial Foundation

P.O. Box 495

Lunenburg MA 01462

Or online using a credit card following the link below

https://www.cfncm.org/Give-i-Current-Future-Donors-i/Donate-Online?tp=1000&fn=A.J.+Robbins+Memorial+Fund

ALL the money will go to buying food. The foundation is a registered 501c3. Additionally, if you would like to volunteer your time in any way to this wonderful event, please call 508-735-5764. The more the merrier and it is a kid friendly environment that will provide them a strong example of doing good for others.

TOGETHER we can make a positive difference in people’s lives.
