Return to Two Week Look Ahead Archive
Good morning. It’s hard to believe, but we are just about halfway through the school year. Second semester will start on Tuesday, January 22, 2019. We had many wonderful things happen here at LHS in 2018. We had a fantastic fall sport season and we had fantastic performances by the music and drama programs. Many students have already been accepted into colleges. We had numerous successful fund raisers and many students are involved in extracurricular activities.
Report cards:
Report cards will be able to be viewed on PowerSchool for second term grades the week of January 28th.
Yearbook:
Go to www.yearbookforever.com and follow the prompts for Lunenburg High School.
Yearbooks cost $65 (early pricing was in effect until January 1). If books are not ordered by January 20, we cannot guarantee that there will be books available to purchase in June. Also, if anyone wants to personalize the book (name stamps, icons, etc.) the final date is January 20.
Hunger Task Force finalized the donations for this year:
"With the money raised last school year, World Hunger Task Force was able to donate $220 to the Lunenburg Lions Club, $250 to Heart to Heart International to assist those affected by the California wildfires and were able, through Child Fund to donate two sheep, a chicken farm with fifty chicks, 25 fruit trees, school supplies, two blankets and mattresses, 24 mosquito nets, water purification tablets; as well as $150 to a fund to protect children from violence, abuse, and exploitation, $75 to a fund to train nurses, and $100 to help restock health stations.
Hunger Task Force is continuing to meet every week this school year to plan our 2019 fundraiser to help those in need locally and around the world."

"Get the Inside Scoop" - on Tuesday, Jan 15th and Wednesday, Jan 16th former LHS students will be meeting with juniors and seniors during lunches and studies. Junior seminars, college searches, college applications, and the admissions process will be the main topics for juniors. How to decide? What is the first year like? These will be main topics discussed with seniors. We strongly encourage juniors and seniors to learn from experiences of former students, listen to their suggestions, and ask any questions they may have.
Student Council:
Student council is planning their annual trip to the State Student Council Conference that takes place in Hyannis.
Ms Gearin is planning a student trip to the Galapagos Islands in June of 2020. The trip will be 11 days, all inclusive and open to all grades. The cost should be around $4000. Please email her at dgearin@lunenburgonline.com if you have questions or interest in being included in information meeting.
