Two Week Look Ahead

Two Week Look Ahead - oCTOBER 5, 2018

Homecoming week is always a busy week filled with tons of Lunenburg traditions. This weekend we have Columbus Day, which will give us an extra day off to hopefully help recharge the batteries as we are in the middle of float building for homecoming.

  • We will have the Homecoming Rally on Friday, October 19 at about 1:30 pm.
  • The schedule for Homecoming events is as follows: Homecoming Parade begins at noon on Saturday, October 20 at the Turkey Hill Elementary School. The end of the parade route will turn into the main entrance to LMHS on Mass. Ave and the floats will park in the bus loop. The public will be able to view the floats for free and then walk down to the turf field to pay for admission into the game.
  • Our Homecoming football opponent is Murdock and that game is being played at 2:00 pm. The parade will go on at the regularly scheduled time 12:00 pm. Before the football game, the traditional senior ceremony between player and family will take place on the field. At halftime of the game, seniors from the marching band will be recognized.
  • The post-game festivities will be: Presentation of the Brockelman Award, Marching Band Performance, and announcement of the winning float.
  • The Homecoming Dance is from 7:00-9:30 pm.

Go Blue Knights!

On Sunday, October 21, the PTO sponsored Miles for Myles 5K walk, bike, and run event will begin at 11am. At 2pm, the Mulligan-McCarron Track and Field Dedication Ceremony will begin at the entrance to the LHS track and field.

General Information:

LHS Freshman elections- Julia Dufresne, Natalie Garland, Emily Goodwin, Macie Mannone and Ava Pilon will serve as representatives to Student Council. The Class of 2022 has selected their officers: Emily Begley, President; Bella Petricca, Vice-President; Faith Letarte, Secretary; and Grace Richard, Treasurer. All candidates advocated for their positions in a positive way. The election was done online which allowed students that were absent from school on Election Day to vote.

Music- If you ordered cookie dough from a marching band member in August, delivery is expected on Wednesday, October 17th. Due to the cookie dough needing to remain frozen or be refrigerated, all orders will need to be picked up by the band members that afternoon. Speak to your band member to arrange pick up! Contact Mrs. Wardwell if you have any questions, cwardwell@lunenburgonline.com.

Yearbook- It's never too early to order your Yearbook! Yearbooks are on sale online and we are happy to offer an early purchase incentive. Books are $55 until October 26, then they will jump to $60 until Jan 1, and then $65 from then on. There is no guarantee that there will be books available if you don't pre-purchase one. Here is the link to online ordering. Please follow the prompts to reach Lunenburg High School: www.yearbookforever.com

If you would like to submit candid photos to the Yearbook from events, games or community/school involvement, please download our app called Yearbook Snap. Our code is: Lunenburg. The more pictures that are submitted, the better the book will be, please no selfies.

Interface- Interface is a referral service available to all Lunenburg residents and students of the Lunenburg Public Schools. This service, funded this year through the schools, helps to connect individuals with the mental health services they need.
