LHS Update - 9/2/2021

Good Afternoon,

It was wonderful to have students back in the school building and following the guidelines that keep everyone safe. I follow these guidelines in order to keep school open and students learning in person, and not from home. I look forward to this year as interim principal of Lunenburg High School.

Chrome book insurance coverage

Student.Parent Insurance.pdf

Insurance Coverage:

This year, students/parents will have the option to purchase insurance from Seccuranty for $24.95 for the year. This includes keyboard, mousepad, damaged screen repair, WiFi issues, and software issues. Cosmetic damage such as scratches or broken pieces of the corners will NOT be covered.

You can purchase insurance here: https://securranty.com/lunenburg

Insurance will NOT be covered by the school this year. All repairs will be the student/parent's responsibility.

If your student needs a loaner chromebook, we need proof that the insurance was filed before we can issue a loaner.

If there are chromebook questions, please contact chromebooksupport@lunenburgonline.com

Chromebook Chargers:

Additional Chargers will not be handed out this year as they were last year. If a student misplaces or damages a charger, the price to replace the charger will be $25.00. Checks made payable to Town of Lunenburg will be accepted. Cash will be accepted as well. Please put cash in envelope with Name, grade, and homeroom of student.

Please let us know if you have any questions and we will do our best to assist you and your student.

Attendance

LHS will be enforcing our attendance policy that is located in the LHS Handbook. Please make sure you review and understand our attendance policy and our other rules and regulations listed in our handbook.

Class Meetings

We will be meeting with each class during advisory blocks next week to formally introduce Mr. Duffey and Mr. Micu, our assistant principals, and to review our expectations on how to be safe and successful this school year.

Class meetings will be as follows:

Tuesday, September 7 at 9:29 AM freshman and sophomores meet in the auditorium during Advisory.

Thursday, September 9 at 9:29 AM Juniors and seniors meet in the auditorium during advisory.

Senior Privilege

We would love to recognize seniors’ leadership and effort throughout their academic career and grant senior privileges for those who are eligible. If you would like to learn more about senior privileges please come and fill out a permission form at the front office and determine if you are eligible.

Dress Code

While you are reviewing the attendance policy in the LHS Handbook, please review the dress code policy. With the warm weather, it is easy to make the mistake of wearing clothing appropriate for summer instead of clothing appropriate for school. Please ensure your clothing provides coverage for your midriff and the other guidelines set forth in the policy. The handbook can be found on the LHS website.

School Pictures

School Pictures will be taken on Wednesday, October 6 for high school students.

Student Emergency Forms

The Student Emergency Form is required each year to collect student health information and consent for emergency care. Please complete a new form each school year or as information changes. This year, we will utilize an online Student Emergency Form. A receipt will be automatically sent to the email address of the parent/guardian who submits the form. Please note that the form needs to be completed in one sitting (i.e. you cannot save and return to complete).

That’s all for now,

Have a great weekend,
